Its crashing like anything. FIREFOX is the NEW EXPLORER! - I love firefox, and firefox 3 has some great features, but I haven't been able to shut it down properly without a crash.

On top of that, has anyone else noticed that the "go" button from the address bar has been removed? now you need to press enter all the time and cant drag and drop addy's to the address box and press go with the mouse. Pain in the arse when your reading stuff on the bed and away from the keyboard. Going to bed with the mouse wasn't a hassle, i don't want to wake up with a keyboard for my pillow though!

FF crashes daily on my Mac. I know at least 5 times a day. And I dare not ever go to Myspace (it has never worked). But sometimes just when I stumble simple pages (ie. Yahoo!) FF crashes. I've cursed it so much. I just need a better option, or maybe just go back to v.2 because I like FF, but sick and tired of v.3 crashing. I'm beyond my limit.

I am a Foot Doctor (podiatrist) who firmly believes in "Fungasoap" for treatment & prevention of all types of skin & nail fungus. It works beautifully on skin simply by using as a daily wash. You see and feel a difference right away. More importantly it prevents re-infection.
Lets face it folks; fungus in the nails is a different story. I start my patients with Fungasoap & topical tea-tree oil and then wait, up to one year. If there is no improvement, I then opt for Lamisil or surgical removal of nail plate. The latter usually takes care of the problem and as the nail grows back again (One Year) I encourage use of "Fungasoap". The key is to understand that ANY treatment on fungal nails will take ONE year. Why? It takes one year for the average toenail to grow out completely. Nobody tells the average consumer this fact and therefore patients become discouraged and never complete treatment. And once you've gotten rid of the fungus you can become re-infected rather quickly after completing treatment drug. That is why "Fungasoap" shines. Regular routine showering or bathing with the product prevents re-infection 95% of the time in my office. Use it before & after your visit to the Pedicurist. It is made by Pedifix Inc. 1-800-PEDIFIX

I'm using FF 3.01 and it DOES crash a LOT!

What's amazing is that it crashes in very simpleeveryday tasks visiting harmless sites, with no apparent reason.

Updates need to be a bit quicker else I'll switch back to FF2.

But what does Steve Jobs mean by “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish”?
Does it have a meaning?
Or is it just a phrase that has to be interpreted by the reader/listener as it relates to them?

I used tea tree oil on nail fungus, and found that it helped. I added an equal amount of tincture of myrrh, and found that more effective. (Myrrh is a natural astringent, and has natural antibiotic properties, and, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, promotes healing.) I found the combination to work faster, you still need to wait for the nail to grow out to get rid of the yellow. Trying to work the mixture under the nail (not so much that you hurt yourself) also speeds things up.
Also, taking some herbs to tonify the immune system may help, I personally recommend mushrooms like shiitake, reishi (ganoderma), maitake, and cordyceps, alone or in combination, each of these mushrooms seems to improve immune response.

I am just fed up of Firefox 3 constant crashing practically every time I use it. I'm no techno-savvy person, so I'm just as perplexed as the next door snake charmer neighbor of mine...

When I discovered Opera had released their 9.51 browser, I downloaded it of course, hoping that it might offer me an alternative, and I'm glad that I've done so. Opera 9.51 is stable, fast, friendly and offers some ingenious touches such as 'paste & go' button on their google search bar. I'm not paid by Opera to ad this, I wish they'd do so, but really Opera 9.51 seems to be a much better browser than FF3. I'm a new fan.

Folks at Mozilla better work out FF3s shortcomings before they really start losing their loyal users.

I went back to FF2 after constant FF3 crashes. Mozilla has really set the bar low with this one.

Only thing is, after re-installing FF2, I no longer have any "Back" or "Forward" buttons on the control bar!
WTF IS UP WITH THAT?

whew! ok, BBW does value its customers and their opinions--both the complaints and compliments--of which there are many, and, in fact, there are many, many many more opinions lauding BBW than there are complaints about recycling, which, actually, are so very, very rare as to be practically non-existent.

All opinions from customers are indeed sent through the appropriate channels, just like those suggestions made by BBW's own employees.

all communications are considered to be of the utmost importance, taken seriously and addressed equally.

like any and every other company, conglomorate, corporation, public, private, small or large business, BBW needs to make money, but to do this, they ALL need to specifically cater to their customer base. and cater they do. if a company doesn't offer what the customer wants, then they can just stand there and wave goodbye to the business.

statistics tell BBW that their customers are not clamoring for refills. if that were the case, then of course, like any other wisely run business, the refills would be manufactured and sold again.

there are scads of products that have been discontinued only to be brought back again because that's what BBW customers demanded. what well-run business would ignore their customers' demands? that would be just plain stupid. again, the demand for refills is almost nonexistent. what reasonable, logical--and successful--corporation provides a product that is, for them, not in demand and thus sits on the shelf, becoming a waste of time and money?

case in point:

the current starbucks issue: they have not listened to their customers, not given more than an inch to the demand and supply and cost problems of their customer base.

starbucks price points are high--have always been high, but are waaayyy too high at this time--particularly when so many people are out of work, on unemployment, have exhausted unemployment (and hopefully gotten the 13-week extension--in NY, at least), have been lucky enough to find part-time jobs paying $8 an hour, receiving food stamps and/or welfare; providing for families on $400 a week--or $0 a week--unable to pay rent, utility bills, are in foreclosure...and with so many people now unable to afford starbucks' fare, they're turning to the coffeehouse giant's new--somewhat-less-expensive--competition: dunkin' donuts, mcdonald's, independents...because it is they who have met the demand.

starbucks customers went there for the "experience," the high-end selection, the atmosphere, to feel grandiose...but now, for them, it all boils down to money. and starbucks is not giving their customers what they want; because they can't. for them, it's not feasible; and the business will ultimately fail if they don't--and rather quickly--give in to the customers' demands...(refills, maybe?) (heh heh!) because the customer is finding a cheaper alternative at dunkin' donuts. how can starbucks compete with low-end competition? how can they they start charging $3.00 for a sandwich--which truly is really great quality--that once cost $6.95?

the customer doesn't care about the packaging in any of these cases...just whether the mcdonald's coffee drink is cheaper and acceptable.

starbucks is losing huge profits, tons of $$$. next year, there won't be a store on every corner. even the newer, cheaper pike's blend isn't helping as hoped, nor is the "short" cup of coffee.

in fact, there was always the starbucks short, but it was denied to the customer--particularly in affluent neighborhoods and business centers; usually, they simply denied its existence; serving it now is kinda late, and they still do not make widespread news of it.

if you understand the theory of Supply and Demand you will understand my (too-in-depth) starbucks parallel to BBW...and the success or demise and profit gain or loss--as well as customer gain and loss--of a business.

it should make make perfect sense to you that when the consumer demanded it, starbucks did not comply. when the BBW customer did not demand nor care for refills, the company did not provide it. but when the customer demanded discontinued products, BBW supplied them, thus making their consumers not only loyal, but happy people who come back again and again.

starbucks' loyal customer base, meanwhile, has all but disappeared. the former customer cannot even afford to get a tall caramel macchiato or venti vanilla iced coffe as a rare treat.

if you are still reading:

note to those looking for coupons/freebies: BBW emails you a coupon right away to redeem for a free $5- to $8-dollar bestselling product/gift just for signing up online with your email address; feel free to cancel your subscription after you receive or redeem the coupon. (I don't think this was just a limited promotion, but if the offer is not made, my apologies.)

"loyal" customers also receive coupons by post often.

there is no reason to resort to name-calling by an otherwise respectable adult.

eric's info is correct.

bear in mind that these particular soaps are novelty items, and sell like the proverbial "hotcakes" as well.

i use jergens' soap pump as well as the currently agony-inducing bbw pump soaps. and i use the refills for jergens, as well. yes, it does seem wasteful to just throw the bbw soap containers into the trash, which is why i recycle them.

again, recycling is up to the consumer at any and all levels.

i also use many non-refillable items, as do the rest of us: have you any idea how many non-refillable and non-recyclable plastic bic and uniball pens get tossed in the trash every few seconds?

there are no refillable shampoos in any aisles i've been down; no refillable soft drink or alcohol-containing cans or bottles, no energy or sports drink refills; no cosmetics lotions, creams, or potions that are refillable.

though they come in glass, tin or plastic bottles and jars, coffe containers are not refillable, nor is the plastic that your artery-clogging bacon comes in.

i can't find anyone here who is missing the point aside from those who cannot seem to focus on--or who are unaware of--the "big picture." it is not a simple matter of just: "i want a refillable container, gimme one!"

(btw: the books you buy at amazon or barnes and noble for, say, 10 bucks to, hmm, $25 or $30...cost mere CENTS! to manufacture. digest that for a while! you can't even begin to know how a book is created, from beginning to end--or "manuscript to bound book"--so how could you even begin to conceive of why BBW soap pumps are refillable or not?)

look around your own home, you'll find many non-refillables as well as non-recyclable or compostibles: bags of chips, ice cream containers, cans/boxes of soup, packages of cookies, laundry detergent, tic tacs, tubs of butter, sponges, juice containers (careful here: the carton is recyclable; it's not refillable), bread and roll packages, spaghetti sauce, combustibles--july's issue of national geographic will not suddenly morph into august's.

there're glue containers and squeeze packages, shoe polish plastics and tins, metal hangers, disposable razor blades and razors, toothpaste tubes and so very much, much more.

those of the above than can be recycled--though i doubt dorito bags, sponges and cookie packages fit into that group--metal hangers, for instance, and lightbulbs are not recyclable--but hangers can be reused while lightbulbs become nothing more than trash--must be recycled by the individual, as i'm sure you all know.

what this country is starting to do now is not going to change the world--we won't see that in our lifetimes--but it's a good 21st-century start. BBW soap containers are not going to make it or break it.

and now this reply is much too long. however, i must say again, that BBW support here is most certainly not missing the point. rather, other commenters are missing the point, particularly since this is a multifaceted issue rather than a "single point," and too much time has been spent and wasted over personal angst.

yes; there are more important things to worry and "rant" over than BBW soap containers. and yes, i have used up way too much time with this myself!

respectfully,

whew! ok, BBW does value its customers and their opinions–both the complaints and compliments–of which there are many, and, in fact, there are many, many many more opinions lauding BBW than there are complaints about recycling, which, actually, are so very, very rare as to be practically non-existent.

All opinions from customers are indeed sent through the appropriate channels, just like those suggestions made by BBW’s own employees.

all communications are considered to be of the utmost importance, taken seriously and addressed equally.

like any and every other company, conglomorate, corporation, public, private, small or large business, BBW needs to make money, but to do this, they ALL need to specifically cater to their customer base. and cater they do. if a company doesn’t offer what the customer wants, then they can just stand there and wave goodbye to the business.

statistics tell BBW that their customers are not clamoring for refills. if that were the case, then of course, like any other wisely run business, the refills would be manufactured and sold again.

there are scads of products that have been discontinued only to be brought back again because that’s what BBW customers demanded. what well-run business would ignore their customers’ demands? that would be just plain stupid. again, the demand for refills is almost nonexistent. what reasonable, logical–and successful–corporation provides a product that is, for them, not in demand and thus sits on the shelf, becoming a waste of time and money?

case in point:

the current starbucks issue: they have not listened to their customers, not given more than an inch to the demand and supply and cost problems of their customer base.

starbucks price points are high–have always been high, but are waaayyy too high at this time–particularly when so many people are out of work, on unemployment, have exhausted unemployment (and hopefully gotten the 13-week extension–in NY, at least), have been lucky enough to find part-time jobs paying $8 an hour, receiving food stamps and/or welfare; providing for families on $400 a week–or $0 a week–unable to pay rent, utility bills, are in foreclosure…and with so many people now unable to afford starbucks’ fare, they’re turning to the coffeehouse giant’s new–somewhat-less-expensive–competition: dunkin’ donuts, mcdonald’s, independents…because it is they who have met the demand.

starbucks customers went there for the “experience,” the high-end selection, the atmosphere, to feel grandiose…but now, for them, it all boils down to money. and starbucks is not giving their customers what they want; because they can’t. for them, it’s not feasible; and the business will ultimately fail if they don’t–and rather quickly–give in to the customers’ demands…(refills, maybe?) (heh heh!) because the customer is finding a cheaper alternative at dunkin’ donuts. how can starbucks compete with low-end competition? how can they they start charging $3.00 for a sandwich–which truly is really great quality–that once cost $6.95?

the customer doesn’t care about the packaging in any of these cases…just whether the mcdonald’s coffee drink is cheaper and acceptable.

starbucks is losing huge profits, tons of $$$. next year, there won’t be a store on every corner. even the newer, cheaper pike’s blend isn’t helping as hoped, nor is the “short” cup of coffee.

in fact, there was always the starbucks short, but it was denied to the customer–particularly in affluent neighborhoods and business centers; usually, they simply denied its existence; serving it now is kinda late, and they still do not make widespread news of it.

if you understand the theory of Supply and Demand you will understand my (too-in-depth) starbucks parallel to BBW…and the success or demise and profit gain or loss–as well as customer gain and loss–of a business.

it should make make perfect sense to you that when the consumer demanded it, starbucks did not comply. when the BBW customer did not demand nor care for refills, the company did not provide it. but when the customer demanded discontinued products, BBW supplied them, thus making their consumers not only loyal, but happy people who come back again and again.

starbucks’ loyal customer base, meanwhile, has all but disappeared. the former customer cannot even afford to get a tall caramel macchiato or venti vanilla iced coffe as a rare treat.

if you are still reading:

note to those looking for coupons/freebies: BBW emails you a coupon right away to redeem for a free $5- to $8-dollar bestselling product/gift just for signing up online with your email address; feel free to cancel your subscription after you receive or redeem the coupon. (I don’t think this was just a limited promotion, but if the offer is not made, my apologies.)

“loyal” customers also receive coupons by post often.

there is no reason to resort to name-calling by an otherwise respectable adult.

eric’s info is correct.

bear in mind that these particular soaps are novelty items, and sell like the proverbial “hotcakes” as well.

i use jergens’ soap pump as well as the currently agony-inducing bbw pump soaps. and i use the refills for jergens, as well. yes, it does seem wasteful to just throw the bbw soap containers into the trash, which is why i recycle them.

again, recycling is up to the consumer at any and all levels.

i also use many non-refillable items, as do the rest of us: have you any idea how many non-refillable and non-recyclable plastic bic and uniball pens get tossed in the trash every few seconds?

there are no refillable shampoos in any aisles i’ve been down; no refillable soft drink or alcohol-containing cans or bottles, no energy or sports drink refills; no cosmetics lotions, creams, or potions that are refillable.

though they come in glass, tin or plastic bottles and jars, coffe containers are not refillable, nor is the plastic that your artery-clogging bacon comes in.

i can’t find anyone here who is missing the point aside from those who cannot seem to focus on–or who are unaware of–the “big picture.” it is not a simple matter of just: “i want a refillable container, gimme one!”

CORRECTION!
Firefox is working for me now.

I tried safe mode, reinstalling, disabling addons and reset everything to defaults. Firefox still kept crashing.

Do this: When uninstalling firefox, somewhere I had an option to delete old data. There is a check box you have to click. (somebody clarify this) It says that you will lose all old data like bookmarks etc... Go ahead and delete old data. I found some exe file was deleted. Then, install firefox 3.0.1. No crashes! Gmail, tabs everything is safe.

Woohoo!

As a secretary type I can assure you that ROWE needs to be implemented with care by uber-competent management. If it is not, employees will take advantage and those of us who are relegated to "serving" everyone will have to pick up the slack. My current manager has set up the laid back standards for the work environment, however he has never:

Presented ROWE as the new management style to all of his employees
Set a consistant standard of production
Removed employees who produce very little
Made himself consistantly available for communication; neither face-to-face nor via phone and email
Forged a relationship of mutual trust and respect with his employees (he "zones out" whenever a female speaks and is afraid to communicate with older employees!)

The result is a mess. His insecurities are keeping him from fully implementing the system making himself look simply lazy and our team (of contractors no less) look baaaaad!!! Eventhough he seems to want to change our work culture to ROWE, if we really followed it, he would have to be one of the first to go.

Actually, after reading some other forums, it looks like the problem is being caused (at least in my case) by the new AVG 8. I cancelled it as an add-on a few days ago and my FF3 hasn't crashed since. Before that, I could only use FF3 in 'safe' mode. According to some of these other comments, we need to wait for AVG to make some updates before it can be 'friendly' with FF3!!
